Department of Language Education

The Department of Language Education at HGU seeks to train and equip students to be competent global communicators through foreign language teaching based on Christian Worldview. We approach language education with a holistic view encompassing both excellent communicative skills and intercultural adaptability with Christian attitude. In response to the continuing increase in the number of major classes conducted in English at HGU, we are employing the following components in our English program. All classes are conducted according to acquisitional levels after placement tests. By strengthening courses at the high level with special concentration in one of the four skill areas of communication, we encourage students to work on their desired areas more exclusively. We promote students’ self-motivated and independent language study by utilizing various means of study such as CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning) Lab, Writing Lab and Discussion Lab.
