Getting to Handong | Print |
Incheon Airport
If you are flying into Seoul, you'll fly into the international airport called Incheon.
There you will go through immigration and pick up your luggage.
(Free trolleys are available for luggage)

Next, if you are flying into PoHang, you will need to transfer to the domestic airport, Gimpo in Seoul.
Once you come out of immigration, we suggest that you go to the ATM and take out 50,000-100,000 Won.
Then look for a sign that says Airport Limousine.
Ask tourist information if you can't find it.
There you can buy a ticket to the Gimpo Airport.
Ask the ticket salesperson where to catch the bus.
The bus usually comes every 20 minutes.
The trip to Gimpo usually takes between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

We recommend that you book your flights with a minimum of a two-hour layover time between when you arrive at Incheon and when you leave Gimpo.

It is possible to take a bus or train to PoHang from Seoul, but we aren't including detailed information about that here.
We recommend that first time faculty fly into PoHang.
If you are interested in one of the options besides flying into Pohang, talk to the guesthouse coordinator before you leave your home country.

Busan Airport
It is recommended that professors coming to Handong for the first time book a flight from Busan to Pohang.
However, there are two shuttle buses that go from the Busan airport to the Shiway bus terminal in Pohang.
If you are interested in the bus option contact the guesthouse coordinator and they can check on the departure times of the shuttles for you.
